Uproar Alley was born from the belief that great things happen when people are moved to take action.

Visually-driven, attention-getting, strategic communications are key to making that happen, and that's exactly why we're here.

Ready to team up? Drop me a line at alanna@uproaralley.com, or read on to learn more about me.

The crux of it: I help businesses and nonprofits break through traditional molds to tell their stories, manage issues, market products and services, understand key audiences and execute effective communications and fundraising strategies in bold new ways.

My work centers on smart strategy, and a proven ability to develop effective key messages, tactics and partnerships. I work as an extension of your team, focused on accomplishing your objectives. I work with clients I believe in and on projects I enjoy.

Over the last 15 years, I've worked with international organizations including the UN Refugee Agency, UN World Food Programme, International Catholic Migration Commission and WaterAid to give voice to important untold stories, influence policy makers, and publicize powerful social impact partnerships with brands and businesses including ARUP, American Standard, The Body Shop, Coca-Cola, H&M, HSBC, Western Union and The Hunger Games / Lionsgate.

My work as a storyteller and media liaison can be seen through media placements in outlets including Al-Jazeera, BBC News, CBS, CNN, Cosmo, The Guardian, Glamour, Medium, New York Times, Newsweek, NPR, PRI and Teen Vogue among many others.

I speak Spanish, French and German and am fortunate to have had the opportunity to live and work in countries across the globe, including Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Nicaragua, Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka and Switzerland.

In addition to my consulting work at Uproar Alley, I am the cofounder and CEO of Vibe Coworks, Kitsap's premier shared workspace and coworking community.

Let's work together.

Results: delivered.

Alanna is a first-rate writer with a talent for bringing sometimes tricky policy debates ‘back to Earth’ by putting a human face to the issues at hand.

Thanks to her upbeat and determined lead at a time when the rest of the team was strapped for time, the GFMD Civil Society Support Office was awarded a 1.6 Million euro grant to help boost civil society leadership in migration and development.
— Andres Morales, Global Forum on Migration & Development
Alanna was a joy to work with. Her boundless positive energy and creativity mean she is always full of ideas and enthusiasm to make them happen.

She’s a great writer, skilled at bringing copy alive for all sorts of audiences, and her engaging personality means she quickly builds productive working relationships with colleagues near and far.
— Libby Plumb, Head of Brand & Content, Farm Africa
Alanna has been a wonderful resource for my reporting on women and girls around the world, and she knows exactly what journalists need.

I had a terrific experience working with Alanna on the ground in Nepal, where we traveled to rural villages in difficult-to-reach areas. She and her team at WaterAid arranged very informative interviews with health workers, government officials, and families hit hard by the devastating earthquakes.

Alanna’s dedication, positive attitude, stamina, and amazing organizing has truly made a difference by getting critical issues out into the world. I’m honored to have worked with Alanna to share such important stories through my journalism.
— Sonia Narang, Multimedia Journalist
I’ve worked for many years as a journalist, relying on people in Alanna’s sort of position —- yet have met very few as impressive as she.

Alanna brings great passion for the mission, tremendous global experience and language skills, (flawless Spanish), to her work.

We spent a week together in rural Nicaragua, working 12-hour days in 95-degree heat in a small and crowded van in a multi-generational, multi-media, multi-national team who had never met before. A challenge?

It was one of the best weeks of my life, thanks to her skill, character and experience working closely with teams in tough environments.

The week was beautifully organized, the team very well-matched, our translators and fixers both stellar and kind. She was the perfect combination of “Let’s get it done!” and good humored flexibility.

I greatly admire her both personally and professionally.
— Caitlin Kelly, Journalist
